Manoj Tiwary’s ton helps Bengal set 319-run target against Vidarbha in Vijay Hazare Trophy Quarter-Final

Bengal set Vidharbha a target of 319 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Pre Quarter-Final match at Rajkot. Shreevats Goswami and Manoj Tiwary did the bulk of the scoring for Bengal, and comfortably dominated the Vidharbha bowlers. Tiwary’s innings was filled with big shots, and he hit three sixes before hitting his first boundary.

Earlier, Goswami and Arindam Das had formed an efficient 50-run partnership at the start, and were moving steadily along until Das was run out by Vidharbha skipper Shalabh Shrivastava. After Das’ departure, Tiwary and Goswami dominated the bowlers for a long time. Goswami was finally dismissed for 84 after the Bengal opener failed to clear the infield while attempting a big shot.

Tiwary continued his carnage after that, and reached a wonderful hundred to give Bengal a good chance of progressing through to the semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
