A massive earthquake struck Nepal which lasted almost a minute and more in Nepal as tremors were felt across North India on Saturday morning. In India, the tremors were felt for almost thirty seconds as the magnitude was recorded 7.5 on Richter scale in Nepal.
Reports of tremors are coming in from Patna, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, Chandigarh and other cities.
“Epicenter was 83 kilometres North West of Kathmandu, Nepal, measured 7.4 on Richter scale,” said European Mediterranean Seismological Center.
Few cricketers and commentators, who are in Kolkata for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), shared their experiences on Twitter.
Earthquake lasted over a minute in Kolkata. I hope every one is safe. Just felt aftershocks.
