Star Indian player Shafali Verma made a history on Sunday (November 2) in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 final as she played one of the greatest innings of her career and becomes the first Indian opener to achieve a massive feat.

Earlier, the record belonged to Punam Raut, who scored 86 against England in the 2017 Women’s World Cup final. Among men, Virender Sehwag held the top spot with 82 runs in the 2003 World Cup final against Australia. With her brilliant knock, Shafali has now gone past both, creating a new milestone for India in World Cup history.
