Rangpur Riders cruised home to a 9-wicket win against Khulna Titans in Match 5 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium at Dhaka. With this win, Rangpur Riders have won both the matches they have played in the tournament so far. Openers Mohammad Shahzad and Soumya Sarkar wasted little time to get going and with the target being under 50, they did that with no trouble whatsoever. Junaid Khan conceded nine off the very first over, which included two boundaries to get the ball rolling. Mohammad Ashghar then bowled a quiet over, giving away just a couple of runs with his slow left-arm orthodox. Full Cricket Updates, Rangpur Riders vs Khulna Titans, BPL 2016, Match 5 at Dhaka

Junaid then returned for his second over and removed Mohammad Shahzad for just 13. He was caught and bowled by Junaid. Sarkar and Mohamad Mithin then joined hands. There was a chance to get rid of Mithun for a duck, but the wicketkeeper made a mess of it and dropped a skier.

Earlier, Rangpur Rangers have managed to bowl Khulna titans for just 44. Rangpur Rangers got off to the perfect start as Sohag Gazi struck off the second ball of the match cleaning up Nicholas Pooran for a duck. Wickets kept tumbling for Khulna Titans, one after the other. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi struck with the first two deliveries of his spell. He first removed Riki Wessels for for 5, then followed it up with the wicket of Alok Kapali for a first-ball duck to reduce the Titans to 15 for 5 in the fifth over.

Shuvagata Hom managed to strike a couple of boundaries of Richard Gleeson in the next over, but then Afridi bowled him in his very next over. Shuvagat was the only player to get to double figures in that innings. The Titans were reeling at 36 for 6 after 7 overs. Ariful Haque was then dismissed in the very next over by Arafat Sunny and in the same over, he got rid of Junaid Khan for a duck. It was just a matter of time after that and the Titans were bowled out for just 44 in 10.4 overs, inside an hour of the innings. This total is the third joint lowest total in T20 cricket and also the fourth joint lowest deliveries faced in an innings in T20s.

Earlier, Rangpur Rangers had won the toss and elected to field.
