Mayank Rawat wants to showcase his talent in upcoming IPL season
East Delhi Riders’ batter Mayank Rawat, who hit five massive sixes against South Delhi Superstarz during the finals of Delhi Premier League 2024, expressed his desire to get picked by any franchise for the IPL 2022 trial as he smashed six sixes fir the trials.
Mayank hit fived sixes during the bowling of Ayush Badoni, during the last over of the first innings. This play also helped East Delhi win their maiden DPL title.
In a recent interview, Mayank stated how it was difficult for him to be selected by an IPL franchise even after his performance in the trials.
“I hit 6 on 6 balls in that trial. But I didn’t get picked in that trial. So it was challenging for me. It looked like I was struggling. But I didn’t give up. I tried to do my best. So that’s what I’m doing. I want to play as a team player, not as a selfish. I have always played as a team player since I was a kid. I used to play in Balwant Cricket Academy. My coach is Mr. Nagar. I have always tried to be a good team player. I have never thought of becoming selfish or making my own,” said Mayank.
“I feel like playing red ball for Delhi, playing the Ranji Trophy. I want a long career in the Ranji Trophy because I love playing red ball. T20 format is more common like IPL. I am more interested in that. But I also want to play more Red Ball Cricket,” he added.
