Mehidy Hasan Miraz claims best match figures by a Bangladesh bowler in a Test
The offspinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz has outdone his previous best performance to record the best bowling figures in Test match for Bangladesh who on Sunday hammered West Indies by an innings and 184 runs at Mirpur.
In spinning the hosts to their biggest Test victory ever, and with it the series 2-0, Mehidy surpassed the 12/159 he claimed in his debut series against England in 2016 when he bowled Bangladesh to a famous win at this same venue.

He finished with a career-best 12/117 for the Test, claiming nine of the 15 West Indian wickets that fell on day three.
West Indies lost nine wickets in the morning session at Mirpur. They were bowled out for 111 in the morning session, with Mehidy claiming 7/58 to enforce the follow-on. They then lost four wickets inside 13 overs to go into the lunch break in a daze, and Bangladesh wrapped up the win before tea with Mehidy claiming five.

Those to have taken ten wickets in a Test for Bangladesh are Enamul Haque junior, Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam. Enamul achieved it in Bangladesh’s maiden Test victory in 2015, Shakib against Zimbabwe in 2014 and Australia in 2017 and Taijul last month versus Zimbabwe.
