Australia reached 272 for eight in their 50 overs against Afghanistan in the one-off One-Day International at Sharjah on Saturday.

Skipper Michael Clarke and Matthew Wade added 131 runs for the second wicket scoring to take Australia to solid start.

Clarke and Wade top-scored for Australia scoring 75 runs each.
Â
However, Afghanistan fought back and reduced Australia to 210 for five in the 44th over of the innings.

Karim Sadiq was the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan picking up two wickets for 21 runs in six overs.

Earlier, Australian captain Michael Clarke has won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan.
