Australia cricket team captain Michael Clarke has finally sold his Sutherland Shire home for 2.55 million dollars after it had lingered on and off the market for three years.

A young family from the eastern suburbs signed the deal to buy the cricketer’s former Lilli Pilli home on Monday, when Clarke was forced to retire hurt on day one of the Test between Australia and India.

News.com.au reported that Clarke bought the 1,670 square meter waterfront property back in the height of the pre- GFC property boom, paying 2.87 million dollars for the residence in 2006.

The five-bedroom home actually when to auction in 2009 but failed to sell at 3.4 million dollars and then earlier this year the property passed in at auction at 2.7 million dollars. The glamour pad, sitting right on the waterfront on Gundawarra St, had been built in 2001 and features polished floors, security, a triple garage, swimming pool and a boathouse, the report added.

Clarke has not lived at the home in recent years and according to reports it has been leased out at 1600 dollars a week.
