Sydney: Former Australia cricketer Michael Hussey has backed out-of-form all rounder Shane Watson to thrive at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, describing him as a player capable of dominating the game.

Hussey, a veteran of 185 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), said that if he [Watson] could start well, then he had no doubt he could dominate the World Cup, News.co.au reported.

Reflecting on Watson’s talent, Hussey further said that he was such a good package as he had so much power for the shorter forms, adding that he adds a lot of balance to every team he plays in as he bowls too, the report added.

Watson was rested from Friday’s ODI against England in Hobart due to a tight hamstring.

Australia will open their World Cup campaign against England on February 14 in Melbourne.
