A dangerous looking Rohit Sharma just lost Michael Hussey as Mumbai Indians have already reached 120 for the loss of just two wickets at the end of 12 overs against a hapless looking Delhi Daredevils attack in Mumbai. Hussey reached his fifty in splendid fashion, but then as run out off the last ball of the 12th over.

Mumbai batsmen are being able to score at too much ease against an insipid and uninspired Delhi bowling attack who seem to be just going  through the motions. Such has been the scoring that they reached the 100-run mark in just 10 overs. Hussey crossed his fifty in the 10th over, and Rohit is looking superb as well.

Earlier in the innings, after Delhi had won the toss and elected to bowl first, Mumbai made a surprise change in their playing XI when they asked the umpire if they could replace an injured Praveen Kumar with Pragyan Ojha in the already announced playing XI.

Then, Wayne Parnell opened the bowling for Delhi. He straightaway looked to bowl full and found a wee bit of swing. Simmons who has been in prime form for Mumbai Indians opened the batting with Hussey. Hussey was the opened who opened his shoulders by essaying a fine shot through the covers for a boundary.

He then went after Mohammed Shami the swing bowler and compiled a boundary through the on-side. He also came down the wicket to hit Parnell for a boundary down the ground. Other than those three boundaries, Delhi have bowled with decent control till then.

But then, matters started to go out of hand as Hussey took the attack to the cleaners and was soon joined by Simmons too. After bringing up the fifty inside five overs, both the openers carried on. Imran Tahir then came on to bowl the ninth over, and Simmons hit him for 17 runs in the over before losing his wicket off the final ball of the over. Simmons’s wicket brought the Mumbai captain, Rohit Sharma to the centre.
