Mohammad Aamer is among the 52 Pakistani players who have been included in the foreigner’s list for the upcoming 2015 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tainted Pakistani fast-bowler, who completed his five-year ban by the ICC for his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing saga on September 2, is accompanied by the likes of Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez among the Pakistani contingent in the league. As many as 48 players from England, 33 West Indian, 25 Sri Lankan, five Zimbabwean, four Australian, four South African and two New Zealanders have been included in the roster for the Bangladeshi Twenty20 league, whose 2014 edition was scrapped due to match-fixing scandals and non-payment of salaries. According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, there recruitment of players in this year’s edition will be done in a two-fold system. While the first one states that a player enlisted in the roster will be a draft pick to be chosen by the six franchises, with his salary being taken care of by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The other method is that of the franchises directly contracting players and taking care of their wages, which will then take the players in question out of the BPL-provided list. Some of the bigger names expected to feature in the upcoming league have been signed in this manner, with the board claiming that the two-tier recruitment system being a better model than what that of the previous editions of the league.
