Pakistan pacer Mohammad Aamer, who tormented the Indian top order in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, is all set to make his county debut for Essex this summer. As per Geonews, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Aamer for featuring in English county cricket later this season. The left-arm pacer will represent Essex in the NatWest T20 Blast, England and Wales’ Cricket Board’s (ECB) T20 league. Aamer’s teammate Junaid Khan has also been issued an NOC by the PCB to play for Leicestershire county this year.

After leading the national side to their maiden Champions Trophy title, both Pakistani pacers will like to replicate their performance in England’s domestic season. While Aamer grabbed 5 wickets in the just-concluded Champions Trophy edition, Junaid Khan scalped 8 wickets to dent the oppositions. Pakistan toppled India in the summit clash by a whopping 180-run margin courtesy Aamer’s ferocious opening spell, wherein he accounted for the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
