Mohammad Hafeez to skip T20, first two ODIs against England

Pakistan’s veteran allrounder Mohammad Hafeez will skip team’s T20I match and first two ODIs against England in build up to the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Hafeez, who is part of Pakistan’s 15-member World Cup squad, is yet to recover from an injury he sustained during the Pakistan Super League, as reported by Geo News.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Media Samiul Hasan Burney informed Geo News that Hafeez could return to the national side during the third ODI against England in Bristol on May 14.

“The Pakistan cricket team management has given leave to Shoaib Malik so that he can return home to deal with a domestic issue. He is expected to rejoin the team in 10 days’ time,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.

“The PCB will not be making any further comments and fully expects all concerned to respect Shoaib’s privacy,” it added.

Pakistan are set to face England in the only T20 on May 5 before starting the five-match ODI series at Cardiff on May 8.
