Mohammad Hafeez‘s unbeaten knock of 190 so far has helped Pakistan stay in control against Bangladesh the first Test of the two-match Test series, at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Wednesday. Earlier, Pakistan started the day on 227 for the loss of a wicket, as they ended on Day 2. It was a similar start as of where it had ended. The batsmen in the form of Hafeez and Azhar Ali continued to bat steady hardly giving the Bangladesh bowlers a chance to get early wicket.

Hafeez, in the mean time, also brought up his 150 off 205 deliveries including 14 boundaries and a couple of sixes. He also became the highest scorer as opener from Pakistan against Bangladesh in Test cricket. Azhar too was batting good, but it was at the score of 277, when he was bowled by Shuvagata Hom for a healthy 83. Just when he was looking good to get to his ton as well, he gave Bangladesh a much needed breakthrough, thus ending the huge partnership of 227 runs. However, his dismissal made way for veteran, Younis, who was determined to play a good knock and was in an aggressive mood from the start as he smashes few boundaries and was scoring runs quickly as well as rotating the strike well with Hafeez. They also brought up the 50-run stand for the third wicket in 69 deliveries, leading to the contribution of 18 from Hafeez and 30 from Younis, as the the umpires called for the lunch.
