Morne Morkel removes Brendan Taylor for 40 in South Africa vs Zimbabwe, ICC World Cup 2015 match

Morne Morkel picked up the wicket of Brendan Taylor, as Zimbabwe lost their fourth wicket in the South Africa vs Zimbabwe Pool B, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Sunday. Imran Tahir collected his second wicket as Hashim Amla caught Hamilton Masakadza. Masakadza scored 80 runs from 74 balls, which included eight fours and two sixes. Brendan Taylor came to bat after Chamu Chibhabha’s dismissal. Taylor scored 40 from 40 balls, which included one six and four fours. The partnership between Masakadza and Taylor is 54 runs from nine overs. Vernon Philander has taken one wicket.

After scoring his half-century, Chamu Chibhabha was dismissed by Imran Tahir as JP Duminy took a spectacular catch. Chibhabha scored 64 from 82 balls, which included 10 fours. Chibhabha hit his 10th One-Day International (ODI) fifty. Chibhabha and Masakadza scored a second-wicket partnership of 105 runs from 17.4 overs.

Hamilton Masakadza also scored half-century on his Cricket World Cup debut. He smashed a six off Dale Steyn to bring his fifty. Masakadza came to bat as Zimbabwe lost Sikandar Raza after making a good start as Vernon Philander bowled the opener for five runs in the seventh overs.

Earlier, South Africa recovered from dubious position to post a challenging total of 339 for the loss of four wickets against Zimbabwe. David Miller and JP Duminy posted their second and fourth One-Day International (ODI) centuries respectively. Miller, who was unbeaten on 138, also hit the most number of sixes in World Cup history. South Africa lost four wickets when the score was 89. All top four batsmen, including AB de Villiers, were dismissed cheaply.
