South African pacer Morne Morkel, whose terrorizing presence for his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) help them earn their second crown in 2014, has been ruled of the side for the Champions League T20 to be held in India later this month. The younger Morkel’s ban comes as big dent to KKR preparations of clinching a maiden crown and thereby becoming the third team after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2010 and Mumbai Indians, who are the defending champions.

Manvinder Bisla, whose blistering knock helped KKR win their maiden IPL crown in 2012 will replace Morkel, as confirmed by Twitter handle of KKR’s official account.
