MS Dhoni completed his 100 dismissals in Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday. Dhoni achieved the feat during the match No. 52 of the ongoing IPL 2017 tournament, playing for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. Dhoni claimed an easy catch behind the wickets to dismiss Delhi Daredevils’ Shreyas Iyer, who chased one outside off and edged it behind off Jaydev Unadkat. Dhoni, one of the most iconic players of the tournament as well as the format, has played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for as many as eight editions. Dhoni is now behind Dinesh Karthik in terms of most dismissals for a wicketkeeper. Karthik has 105 dismissals as a wicketkeeper and Dhoni has 96. Overall, Karthik as 113 dismissals; Dhoni, with the catch that he took on Friday night to get rid of Iyer, has exactly 100. Dhoni has taken 4 catches as a fielder. Out of his 96 dismissals as a wicketkeeper, Dhoni has affected 67 catches and 29 stumpings. Dhoni achieved the feat of 100 dismissals in IPL during his 156th game in the tournament’s history. Karthik, on the other hand, has played 151 matches so far.

With 156 matches, Dhoni sits on the second spot in the list of most games played in IPL. He has scored 3,506 runs in the tournament history at 38.10 with a highest of 70 not out. One of the most prolific run-scorers in the format, Dhoni has had a mixed run in this IPL so far. In 13 matches, Dhoni has scored 235 runs at 26.11 with a highest of 61 not out.
