MS Dhoni posts imactful quotes from APJ Abdul Kalam on Facebook
India’s former President and an inspiration to the nation, the late APJ Abdul Kalam, has been remembered and reminisced in many forms. MS Dhoni, India’s limited-overs captain, has posted meaningful quotes of the ‘People’s President’ on Facebook. Kalam had travelled to Shillong to participate in discussion at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), where he collapsed, and was taken to the hospital brought dead. Many former Indian cricketers, and the entire nation, has expressed mourning at the passing away of the great man, who served as the head of the State from 2002 to 2007 but more importantly, provided a direction to the nation’s youth to those who paid attention. Sachin Tendulkar, the former India batsman and captain, expressed his sadness at the death of Kalam on Twitter. The Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI), mentioned, “RIP Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Impeccable character and indomitable spirit – #MissileMan”. VVS Laxman noted that Kalam died doing what he loved to do: “RIP Abdul Kalam who passed away while doing what he loved the most, speaking to students and imparting knowledge to the young”. Former India Women’s cricketer Anjum Chopra, Karnataka and India batsman KL Rahul, former India spinner Anil Kumble, and the BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur also expressed mourning. Former India batsman and a prominent commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, and former India fast bowler Sreesanth, remembered Kalam via the same quote on Twitter: “Dreams are not what you see in you sleep, it is the thing that doesn’t let you sleep”.
