Former England and Lancashire cricketer David Lloyd took a dig at Indian skipper MS Dhoni after the latter announced his decison to quit from Tests with immediate retirement after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Tuesday. ‘Bumble’, as the cricketer-turned-commentator is known, commented on his Twitter account that the decision was “perfectly timed for Dhoni to concentrate on his cement business”, referring to his position as the Vice-President of India Cements, a company whose chairman happens to be International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman N Srinivasan.

Dhoni made the sudden announcement immediately after India drew the third Test against Australia at the MCG. India conceded an unassailable 0-2 series lead to Australia as a result. Dhoni, a veteran of 90 Tests, scored 4,876 runs and  294 dismissals (256 catches and 38 stumpings) in the format. He also happens to be the most successful Indian captain in the format, winning 27 out of the 60 Tests that he played as a skipper.
