On Sunday, more than the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) win over South African team Titans, it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s new hairstyle which made waves. The Indian and CSK captain took off his helmet during his team’s fielding effort to reveal he had a new hairdo.

Dhoni who has experimented with a number of hairstyles in the past from long locks to the boy cut look and the bald look after India’s World Cup win in 2011 was seen sporting a bald buzz hawk.

Fans speculated that Dhoni chose this new look of Italian football star Mario Balotelli’s hairstyle.
However, Dhoni’s personal hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani revealed, “Since Dhoni is a Lieutenant Colonel, the new look was inspired by the World War II paratroopers.”

Sapna, who gave the 32-year-old wicketkeeper his new look, added: “Dhoni never really demands anything when it comes to his looks. He is very easy and leaves it to me.”

Talking about the cricket star’s look, the celebrity hairstylist said, “He is least bothered with his hair or his clothes. He is only focused on one thing: cricket.”

Bhavnani also revealed, “Sakshi [Dhoni’s wife] never interfered with his look and vice versa.”
