Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday afternoon said he has Indian cricketers Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli s fingers taped.

During a casual chat with MiD-DAY, Dhoni cracked, “I have taped the fingers of both (Virat and Ishant) of them. Now, they won’t be able to lift them. It’ll be interesting to see if they can repeat what they did.”

During the second Test at Sydney Cricket Ground, Kohli had shown the middle finger to the crowd after getting annoyed by the crowd s taunting.

Kohli later justified his action on Twitter.

“I agree cricketers don’t have to retaliate. What when the crowd says the worst things about your mother and sister. The worst I’ve heard,” tweeted Kohli.

However the Delhi cricketer was fined 50% of his match fee and charged with Level 1 of the ICC’s Code of Conduct relating to “using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during an international match”.

On Monday, bowler Ishant Sharma responded to a fan by showing the middle finger, while returning to the team bus after a session of go-karting.

The incident was captured by the West Australian newspaper. A fan told Ishant, “Why don’t you go learn how to bat and bowl before you go go-karting. It will be three-nil mate.”

The gesture by the Australian media has been titled as ‘Birdy Hell .

The go-karting session was visited by everyone except Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman and Zaheer Khan at Belmont on Monday.

The team is training at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground (WACA) for the third Test starting January 13th.
