After having opened a cricket academy in Dubai, MS Dhoni is all set to inaugurate his second overseas venture in Singapore. The Singapore academy will open on January 20 at St. Patrick’s School.

The academy curriculum is developed by Dhoni himself. The Singapore academy will work in connection with Singapore National Women’s Cricket captain G.K.Diviya who will be joined by two players from the men’s team as well: Chetan Suryavanshi and Chaminda Ruwan. Dhoni has always focused on cricket played at grass-root levels.

According to a press release, Dhoni said: “Sports should be an essential driver for the development of a child’s character. Apart from being fit, you can learn leadership and other important aspects of life via sports. Every kid should play an outdoor sport. MS Dhoni Cricket Academy is not only about producing cricket talent, but our academy’s vision is to guide a kid to become a champion in life via sports.”

Dhoni will work with Academia 7 who have can open academies in 13 countries. Apart from them, Aaraka Sports also have rights to open 12 academies in Asia.

So far, more than 200 children have signed up to gain admission in the academy.
