The Indian captain MS Dhoni wished cricket fans across the country on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on Tuesday.

 

He tweeted on his official Twitter account as ‘Wish you all a very happy Diwali’. Diwali or Deepavali is one of the most auspicious festivals for Hindus and is celebrated in families across India.The festival is popularly known as the “festival of lights,” and it involves illuminating clay lamps to signify the triumph of good over evil

 

Indian cricketers, who have a massive fan following, are known to stay connected with their fans via social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook.

 

Sachin Tendulkar, the most popular cricketer in the country, made his debut on social networking website Facebook in September earlier this year and got more than 4,10,000 ‘likes’ in a matter of hours.
