MS Dhoni’s reaction to CSK youngster’s explosive knock against MI goes viral

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ayush Mhatre left many impressed with his explosive IPL debut against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede stadium on Sunday.

Mhatre, who came into the CSK squad as a replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad, played a quick-fire knock of 32 runs off just 15 deliveries in his first-ever match in IPL. In his short innings, Mhatre smashed 4 boundaries and 2 towering sixes.

As the 17-year-old was hitting the MI bowling attack all around the stadium, a camera spotted CSK skipper MS Dhoni carefully watching the teenager with a smile on his face.

Mhatre is the youngest-ever player to feature for the Chennai-based franchise in IPL, breaking Abhinav Mukund’s record of making his debut for CSK at the age of 18 years and 139 days back in the 2008 season of IPL.

Mhatre came out to bat at the number 3 spot in the clash against MI after Rachin Ravindra was dismissed early in the innings. His flashy innings of 32 was brought to an end in the seventh over by former CSK pacer Deepak Chahar.
