Mumbai have drafted in Ajinkya Rahane, who is in the India squad for the second Test against the West Indies but not in the playing 11, to bolster their batting against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match from November 17.

The Mumbai selectors also brought in fit-again veteran pacer Ajit Agarkar, to prop up the bowling that was taken to the cleaners by defending champions Rajasthan in their second league match that ended in a draw on Sunday.

To accommodate the duo, the 39-time champions dropped Nikhil Herwadkar and Kshemal Waingankar. The four-day match between the group’s joint leaders (9 points each) is to be played at the Brabourne Stadium.(PTI)
