Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals will clash in an important game at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. With Kolkata Knight Riders beating Sunrisers Hyderabad, the race for the fourth spot in the IPL 2014 Points Table is between Mumbai and Rajasthan. Rajasthan are on 14 points and Mumbai are on 12. Mumbai’s victory will take them to 14 points as well, so it would all boil down to the net run-rate.

For Mumbai to qualify for playoffs, they need to beat Rajasthan by 42 runs if they bat first. And if Mumbai bat second, they need to get to the total in 14.3 overs. This is the equation before them and it is somewhat similar to what Kolkata needed to get into the Qualifier. They needed to chase their total in 15.2 overs and they fulfilled the task in 14.2 overs. So, they need a Yusuf Pathan-like innings to do the job.
