Mumbai Indians sigh Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka as replacements for Foreign players

Mumbai Indians (MI) have appointed three new players as replacements for those oversea players who will leave India for national commitments.

Mumbai Indians have signed Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson, and Charith Asalanka as replacements for a group of foreign recruits who are set to leave for national duty following the team’s final league match on May 26.

England’s star player Will Jacks and South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch are the three players who are going to leave the franchise after their league match against Punjab Kings- which is set to happen on May 26.

Jacks will be replaced by English wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow, who joins the squad at a price of INR 5.25 crore,” the IPL stated in an official release.

English pacer Richard Gleeson will come in for Ryan Rickelton at a reserve price of Rs one crore, while Sri Lankan batter Charith Asalanka replaces Corbin Bosch at Rs 75 lakh” the statement added.

All the three replacement players are going to join the team only from the playoffs stage, and will happen in case only if they manage to secure their place in the playoffs.

If speaking about Mumbai Indians, they are currently at the fourth place in the standings with 14 points from 12 matches. If they wish to secure their place in the playoffs, they need to make sure they defeat Delhi Capitals on May 21.
