Mumbai Indians are staying alive in pursuit of 190 in 14.3 overs to qualify for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Although they are 89 for three inside eight overs and Corey Anderson and Rohit Sharma are in the centre, it would be a monumental task that lies ahead.

Kieron Pollard came on to bat at the fall of Michael Hussey’s wicket and he smashed his second ball for a six over mid-wicket. But then, Kevon Cooper came back as he bowled a slower one and it took the bat of Pollard and went high in the air on the leg-side. Brad Hodge took an easy catch at square-leg.

Rohit Sharma then came on to bat and when James Faulkner bowled one short and wide, he cut a six over point. In the powerplay, they scored a total of 71 runs for the loss of three wickets. Cooper then came on to bowl again and with his changes of pace, he kept a hold on the batting.

Earlier, Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl first in a crucial encounter. With the equations in place, they needed to bat second as that would make their task relatively easier. Mumbai brought back Corey Anderson and dropped Marchant de Lange. Rajasthan also made a few changes to their side.
