Bangladesh have proved their mettle by reaching the final of Nidahas Trophy 2018 by defeating the hosts twice in the tournament. Mushfiqur Rahim was in sublime form and finished the series as the second highest run-scorer. He scored 199 runs in five matches and played a match winning knock of 72* against Sri Lanka. In that match Bangladesh pulled out fourth-highest run chase in the history of T20Is chasing 215 against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh gave tough fight to India in all three matches and almost won the final. It was Dinesh Karthik who spoiled their celebration plans by hitting a six off the last ball. However, this series have resulted in many positives for Bangladesh.

“To be honest, we have not become that good a side in T20s till now. There are some things which we can improve upon and our team management and coaching staff are looking at those things.” he said. “At least there was this confidence that we were doing well in ODI and Test formats the last few years and on our day we can beat anyone. I think in T20s we are slowly gaining that confidence as well.”
“We made it to the final and in that respect it does feel good but it is natural that everyone will feel bad after the defeat. But we feel we will take the experience forward and make it count in the upcoming future.”
