Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has found a new home after being ruled out of the 2026 Indian Premier League. Following his sudden exit from the IPL, the left-arm pacer will now be seen playing in the Pakistan Super League. Mustafizur was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 auction. However, the team later released him following instructions from the BCCI.

Shah Rukh khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders acquired the left-arm pacer for ₹9.20 crore in a bidding war with the Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. However, due to recent developments, the franchise released Rahman.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made bold remarks and advised Kolkata Knight Riders to release Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming IPL 2026 and they could also find a replacement for him.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia’s official statement. He said: “Due to the recent developments that are going on all across, BCCI has instructed the franchise KKR to release one of their players, Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh, from their squad.”
