Mustafizur Rahman takes five wickets on ODI debut, becomes 10th man to do so

Playing for Bangladesh against India in the first of the three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at Mirpur, left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman finished with figures of 9.2-1-50-5 after having to leave the field midway through an over following a collision with MS Dhoni. Mustafizur started with the wicket of Rohit Sharma, whose leading edge flew to Mashrafe Mortaza at mid-off; Ajinkya Rahane followed suit, caught by Nasir Hossain; a rampant Suresh Raina played on; he had Ravichandran Ashwin caught-behind first ball to be on a hat-trick. In the process Mustafizur became the second Bangladeshi to achieve this feat following Taskin Ahmed, who did it against the same opponents a year ago. He was the third to achieve it against India (after Allan Donald and Taskin) and the second at Mirpur as well as in Bangladesh (after Taskin). Shaul Karnain was the first to the feat, more than 31 years ago, while Craig Young was the last before Mustafizur. Fidel Edwards (6 for 22) remains the only one with a six-wicket haul on ODI debut.
