Muttiah Muralitharan to play Big Bash League

Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan has confirmed that he will be participating in the next edition of the Australian domestic T20 league Big Bash (BBL).

Muralitharan was quoted by Island Cricket as saying, “Yes, I’m going to play there next summer. It is going to be maybe the last year of mine, so I may as well come and enjoy the Big Bash. I am still bowling well.”

Muralitharan who retired from international cricket after 2011 World Cup plays for Gloucestershire in the Friends Life T20 tournament in England.

According to media reports, the BBL team former Melbourne Renegades are eager to have the Sri Lankan spinner in their team.
