N Srinivasan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President in-exile, has asked the Supreme Court to allow him to contest the elections. In doing so, Srinivasan has said that he will contest it, but will not be involved with the affairs of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also has stated that he will not be attending the IPL Governing Council meetings.

CNN IBN reported that Srinivasan told the Apex Court that if they allow him to take part in the elections, he will not be involved in the IPL. This comes as a stunning move given the fact that the Supreme Court has come down hard on N Srinivasan and the BCCI, for their repeated attempts at reinstating him soon. The BCCI Annual General Meeting has not been held this year to elect the president.
