N Srinivasan will reportedly enjoy the support of BJP during the upcoming board elections. On February 3rd, Srinivasan met with the Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, who is also the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) chief in Delhi. According to Mumbai Mirror, he secured his support for the elections.

The Supreme Court has ruled that Srinivasan will have to choose between Chennai Super Kings and his post in BCCI, reported FirstPost. The Supreme Court had also indicated that BCCI are not permitted to have their way in terms of whom to punish. “The power to punish the guilty vests with the BCCI but in the current context it cannot be left to the BCCI,” the court ruled.

Srinivasan requires a total of 16 votes to win the elections. Since 12 state associations are under the control of BJP, he may well have secured those votes already. It is likely that even Tamil Nadu Cricket Association will vote in his favour which means Srinivasan will just need three votes to be reinstated.
