Nasir Hossain’s 67-ball 68 has helped Bangladesh set up a score of 269 for 8 in the first One-Day International against Zimbabwe at Queens Park Oval, Bulawayo.
Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor won the toss and chose to bowl in the cool conditions. The opening stand between Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful added 65. Iqbal was out when he was strangled down the leg-side and caught by wicketkeeper Taylor. Shingi Mazakadza got Iqbal. In his next over, Ashraful was caught at deep square leg off Mazakadza. He made 41-ball 29.
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were dismissed in the 22nd over of the innings. Mazakadza got Rahim while Shakib was run out. Mominul Haque and Hossain put on 76 for the fifth wicket.
Zimbabwe brought in debutant Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Elton Chigumbura, Prosper Utseya, Shingirai Masakadza, Tinashe Panyangara and Tendai Chatara in place of Vusi Sibanda, Tino Mawoyo, Chamu Chibhabha, Tino Mutombodzi, Natsai Mushangwe, Kyle Jarvis and Chris Mpofu.
Bangladesh made four changes, with the return from injury of Tamim, Shakib Al Hasan and Shafiul Islam, and the inclusion of debutant Robiul Islam.
