Chin music was the way approach that the Australians took when England landed to their shores for the Ashes 2013-14. Mitchell Johnson s hostile bowling gave Australia 5-0 win. The buzz around suggests that Australia may go for similar tactics by unleashing 4 pacers on the Englishmen, but coach Darren Lehmann confirmed whatever pace combination the side adopts, off-spinner Nathan Lyon will definitely play the first Test. Lyon broke into the top 10 bowlers ranking for Tests, after grabbing 22 wickets from 2 Tests in Bangladesh. His bowling helped Australia stage a fight back at Chittagong to level the series 1-1. Praising the premier spinner, who has now gone past Richie Benaud and Jason Gillespie s wicket tally, Lehmann was quoted by cricket.com.au, as saying, He has really grown. We changed the set-up of the side 12 months ago and we ve had a lot of young guys come in the group. He s had to take a next step as a leader so really pleased with the way he s gone about that.

There have been several reports that Australia are planning to unleash Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and James Pattinson on the tourists. However, Lehmann cleared the air and confirmed that whatever is the case, Lyon will make it to the XI.

Nathan is going to play. There s no doubt about that.At the end of the day we just have to see how it all pans out. With injuries, the bowling stocks, how they all come back and what the wicket is like. That s still a long, long way away. We ll just look at the conditions in Brisbane in two months time when we get there and work out what we do.

The first Test between Australia and England will be staged at the Gabba, Brisbane from November 23.
