Nepal need 136 runs to beat World XI in earthquake fundraising T20 Match at Kuala Lumpur
The Nepal team is coming off an disappointing tour of Europe.
Nepal bowlers bowled exceptionally and restricted restricted the World XI side to just 135 during the earthquake fundraising #BatForNepal T20 Match at Kuala Lumpur. World XI skipper Sanath Jayasuriya won the toss and decided to bat first on pitch which looked excellent for batting. They started well but Nepal bounced back with regular wickets in quick successions. From 69 for one in eighth over, the World XI side was restricted to 104 for seven in the 15th over. Opener Marcus Stoinis top scored for them with 48. At the end, Bangladesh international cricketer, Abdur Razzak scored 16 of seven balls as World XI crossed the 130-run mark. They failed to bat out their 20 overs, as all the Nepal bowlers apart from Sompal Kami were amongst wickets. Whereas, the World XI team has a nice mixture of current and former players, with the most accomplished player in their ranks being the legendary former Sri Lankan opener and skipper Jayasuriya. The other members of the side includes, the former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Rashid Latif, Bangladesh spin duo Abdur Razzak and Sohag Gazi as well as the Australian cricketers, Steve O’Keefe and Marcus Stoinis.
