Netherlands captain Peter Borren won the toss and elected to bat first in their World Cup Group B game against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur.

 

Netheralands would draw some confidence from their narrow win over Kenya in their final warm-up game in Colombo. They lost their first three practice games against Canada, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

 

England avoided an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Canada in their practice opener before going on to beat Pakistan in their final warm-up tie at Fatullah.
