New Zealand began their second innings on a great note until the 21st over when Martin Guptill was out on Nathan Lyon’s spell for 45 runs. He missed his chance to score half-century. At the moment, Tom Latham is approaching is half-century soon while the mighty Kane Williamson has made way to the crease and playing an excellent innings so far. New Zealand are 106/1 before tea and were trailing by 273 runs. A long way to go and yet Brendon McCullum is to make his way to bat. Adam Voges‘ marathon innings of 239 gave Australia a 239-run lead against New Zealand  on Day Three of the first Test at Wellington. Australia have have a 378-run lead after bowling New Zealand out for 183 in their first innings. This was Voges’ second double century, having score his first against West Indies in December 2015. Usman Khawaja was dismissed for 140 on Day Two of the Test. Voges and Khawaja added 168 for the fourth wicket, which put Australia in a commanding position. Australia resumed the day on 463 for 6 with Voges and Peeter Siddle at the crease. Siddle fell just one run short of his fifty as he was the first one to depart off the bowling of Doug Bracewell. Bracewell struck again, getting rid of Josh Hazlewood for just eight runs. Nathan Lyon then offered a bit of resistance and helped Voges go get his double century. Voges was the last man out and he was dismissed by Mark Craig, caught and bowled.On Day One, Australia won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. They are in the drivers’ seat in this Test at the moment.
