LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 164 in overs 72| Batting: Donald Tiripano 49(162): Great comeback by Zimbabwe as they put up a competitive total. Sadly, Tiripano missed on his half century. Great efforts from Masvaure on his debut. New Zealand bowling has to be praised.
OUT! Michael Chinouya b Neil Wagner 1(13)
OUT! Prince Masvaure lbw Mitchell Santner 42(168)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 164 in overs 72| Batting: Martin Guptill 14(26), Tom Latham 16(36): It is stumps after 10 overs of New Zealand’s batting. Guptill and Latham are going strong, hammering Zimbabwe bowlers all over the park. Boundaries are coming in very frequently, and Zimbabwe need to stop that. They have put up a very low score in the first innings.

  • 7:12 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 157/8 in overs 72| Batting: Prince Masvaure 42(88), Donald Tiripano 43(149): And with the boundary in this over from Tiripano, Zimbabwe go past the lowest first innings total at Bulawayo, while the batsman scores highest runs for Zimbabwe batting at No. 10. The game has changed its course totally and Zimbabwe can now expect a respectable total now, given the two at the crease look well set. Again, a wicket here will almost end their innings.

  • 6:30 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 142/8 in overs 66| Batting: Prince Masvaure 32(76), Donald Tiripano 38(125): At one point, Zimbabwe were struggling to get to the team score of 100, and now the partnership of Masvaure and Tiripano are taking it to 150. Tremendous batting from the two and technical shots that were lacking during the entire innings are being displayed by these two. Great moment for Masvaure, who made his international debut today. The way he has shown maturity taking up the responsibility is highly commendable and Tiripano must be equally praised for his efforts from the other end. Great understanding between the batsmen and they are taking necessary time sorting the balls and hammering the loose ones for boundary.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 120/8 in overs 55| Batting: Prince Masvaure 20(53), Donald Tiripano 28(82): It’s tea! That’s some batting from the lower-order of Zimbabwe. The batsmen looked clueless in front of the New Zealand bowling and now Tiripano and Masvaure are taking team’s score forward. The two started slowly and now gradually pacing up the innings. Boundaries are coming in every over while the first six of the day came, both off Tiripano’s bat. Some classy shots from the bowler that can put the batsmen to shame.

  • 5:26 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 100/8 in overs 49| Batting: Prince Masvaure 16(45), Donald Tiripano 12(54): The bowlers are doing something which was expected from the top and middle-order of Zimbabwe. Tiripano and Masvaure have successfully built up yet another partnership here. Masvaure plays as an opener in First-Class and be it captain Cremer’s trick or not, it is working for Zimbabwe. Can the hosts bounce back with a great innings by Mazvaure down the order is now the question. Meanwhile, Williamson will look to end this partnership soon, just like the previous ones in the innings.

  • 4:42 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 80/8 in overs 39| Batting: Prince Masvaure 5(16), Donald Tiripano 3(23): Neil Wagner’s over ends Zimbabwe’s last hope as he breaks the partnership between Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza sending both the batsmen back one after another. Wicketkeeper-batsman Regis Chakabva also departed soon followed by skipper Graeme Cremer and it is like rain of wickets here at Bulawayo. Tiripano and Masvaure look to add some last moment runs to the total but that will hardly help the damage already done. New Zealand has a strong batting line-up and look to thrash Zimbabwe who are on the verge of putting up a very low total.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 71/4 in overs 31| Batting: Sikandar Raza 21(38), Craig Ervine 13(41): Finally some batting from Zimbabwe’s end. A few nice shots from both Ervine and Sikandar and a much-wanted partnership building between these two batsmen. Zimbabwe look totally changed after lunch as they are playing with much more composure and maturity. Sikandar’s batting reflects the potential the player has. New Zealand fielders have been very active on field, saving runs here and there.

  • 3:28 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 49/4 in overs 26| Batting: Sikandar Raza 9(24), Craig Ervine 4(25): It’s lunch. Sikandar Raza has shown some good cricket here. Finding the right ball, finding a gap at cover point and cuts it through with a lot of power. Ervine and Sikandar will have to take on the responsibilities to take Zimbabwe to a respectable total.

  • 2:41 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 39/4 in overs 20| Batting: Sikandar Raza 0(5), Craig Ervine 3(8): Zimbabwe struggling already. The last five overs have been lethal and the change in bowling plan has worked for Williamson. Neil Wagner and Mitchell Santner did total damage to the Zimbabwe batting. Two new batsmen at the crease and a tough task for them to build up a partnership from here. Not much runs on board as well. Chibhabha fell prey to Wagner’s short ball, while Masakadza made things easier for Santner. Wagner took another as William top edges a bouncer. Zimbabwe surrendering to New Zealand.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 26/1 in overs 15| Batting: Hamilton Masakadza 11(30), Chamu Chibhabha 10(28):
Williamson introduces spin in the 11th over, Mitchell Santner here. Chibhabha looks quite confident against spin, good display of batting. Not much turn as well so far. Neil Wagner with the next over, going straighter, fuller. Williamson juggling between Wagner and Santner. The batsmen stick to singles and doubles, no boundaries in the last seven overs.

  • 2:10 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 26/1 in overs 10| Batting: Hamilton Masakadza 11(30), Chamu Chibhabha 10(28): The two looking to settle down. New Zealand has a varied bowling attack which is making it difficult for the two Zimbabwe batsmen. Both Southee and Boult are generating good pace consistently, as expected. New Zealand look quite active on field, which is making the singles come rarely. So far so good for the visitors.

  • 1:44 PM IST

LIVE CRICKET SCORE| Zimbabwe 16/1 in overs 5| Batting: Hamilton Masakadza 6(17), Chamu Chibhabha 5(11): Shaky start for Zimbabwe here. Losing a wicket in the very first over was the last thing they wanted against a strong New Zealand and that is what happened. Chari has been out of international cricket for a long time and after starting the innings with a boundary , he has departed the very next ball. At the crease now Hamilton Masakadza along with Chibhabha. These two will have to build up a big partnership considering they have already lost a wicket. Southee did the first damage to Zimbabwe batting, going in with mostly fuller lengths to Masakadza.

  • 1:06 PM IST

OUT! Brian Chari c Martin Guptill b Tim Southee 4(2)

  • 12:50 PM IST

Zimbabwe XI: Chamu Chibhabha, Brian Chari, Hamilton Masakadza, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Prince Masvaure, Regis Chakabva(wk), Graeme Cremer(c), Donald Tiripano, Michael Chinouya

Greetings everyone! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage of the first Test match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo is all set to host this encounter which might hold different importance for both the teams. Add to that their injury concerns and it almost gets worse for them. The visitors nonetheless, are ready to play under their new full-time captain Kane Williamson. For them it might well be a practice series, but for Zimbabwe its a chance to make most of. Stay tuned as we bring you the live action from Day 1. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Zimbabwe  vs  New Zealand , Live Score, 1st Test match at Bulawayo

TOSS: Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat

Zimbabwe haven’t played Test cricket since the last five years. After the series was under threat to called off due to security concerns, the hosts would have breathed a sigh of relief and would be itching to make a mark when the umpire calls play. But injury to Tendai Chatara might have come as big blow for them. Tinotenda Mawoya was also ruled out of the first Test after he was hit on the thumb while playing against South Africa A. Graeme Cremer will lead the side after he also led them in the ODI and T20 series against India. New Zealand’s batsmen and bowlers on the other hand, had a good outing in the warm-up games. While Ish Sodhi was recalled to the Test side, Jeet Raval, a left-hand opener who has scored runs heavily in the domestic competition was named in the squad. Ross Taylor also returns to the squad and all in all, the visitors look a very strong unit, especially with their bowlers Trent Boult and Tim Southee capable of ripping through the Zimbabwe batting line-up.

New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Jeet Raval, Kane Williamson(c), Mitchell Santner, Luke Ronchi, BJ Watling(w), Neil Wagner, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Henry Nicholls, Ish Sodhi, Ross Taylor, Matt Henry, Mark Craig
