Eoin Morgan was out for 17 after he and Joe Root put their heads down and nearly bailed England out of trouble with a 47-run stand in the ninth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 between New Zealand and England at Wellington on Friday. Root looked fluent after a sedate start, while Morgan — on the back of some terrible form — took his time to get set before holing out off Daniel Vettori to Adam Milne, who took a fine diving catch. Earlier, Gary Ballance was out for a pain-staking 26-ball 10 before Trent Boult put him out of his misery, getting him out caught by Kane Williamson. Tim Southee took the first two wickets, getting both openers bowled with some skilful swing bowling. He had Moeen Ali bowled for 20, and knocked Bell over eight.
