The sun is shining down at Seddon Park. It’s time to get underway! Almost 3277 km away from Hamilton, David Warner cracked a triple ton in Adelaide. Currently, the deficit for England is one run more than Davey’s highest Test score now and it’s a tall task in front of them to wipe it off.

Hello and welcome everyone as we step into the moving day of the second Test match in Hamilton. New Zealand have gained the upper hand after dominating the first two days and will be eager to keep their momentum going. England, on the flip side, are under the pump again and now they are dependent on their misfiring batting to bail them out. Already two wickets down, a big effort is required from the middle order. Rory Burns is lucky to be still out there after a couple of dropped catches and he would try to make the Kiwis pay for it. All in all, a very vital day of this Test is about to get underway. Stay with us for all the updates.

Interview time! Daryl Mitchell, the debutant and star with the bat for New Zealand, says it was nice to contribute. Tells that England bowled well and he just kept his patience. Smiles and says that it was nice to get runs and spend time in the middle. Adds that it’s always fun to bat with Watling as he keeps it nice and calm. Reckons that there is some extra bounce in the pitch and hopes to make use of that on Sunday.

Tim Southee and Matt Henry bagged a wicket each and a couple of catches also went down off their bowling. Had they been taken, England would have been in a more precarious situation. They have their backs to the wall and need Joe Root to stand up and show them the way. The deficit for them is quite big but New Zealand have shown that it’s not too tough to score runs on this surface.

It was a really tough day for England. They struggled with the ball and lacked intensity in the field. The English bowling was completely flat and only Stuart Broad managed to make things happen. He finished with a 4-wicket haul while Chris Woakes also picked up three wickets. There were talks about the pitch to be on the flatter side but the Kiwi bowlers turned up with the ball and showed that there is some spice in the surface.

BJ Watling and Daryl Mitchell formed a strong alliance to put together a century stand and then some handy contributions from the lower order zoomed the Kiwi total to 375.
