New Zealand take on Sri Lanka in the first of the seven-match ODI series at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Sunday. This would be Sri Lanka’s final ODI series before the ICC World Cup gets underway at Australia and New Zealand from February.

New Zealand are high on confidence after drubbing Sri Lanka to a 2-0 series whitewash in the Test series. However, ODI being a different ball game, they would start to see things in a different perspective as they would want to test themselves before heading on to the World Cup.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand might be hurt after the Test series whitewash; however, ODIs being the different ball game could see them making a good comeback and turn things in their favour.

Both the teams are expected to have a decent combination as they look to check themselves out mostly in this series with just over a month to go for the mega event.
