Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first were soon reduced to 27 for 5 in the 10th over. Milinda Siriwardana scored 66 and Nuwan Kulasekara scored 58 batting low down the order to ensure that Sri Lanka reached a total of 188 in 47 overs.
