Tillakaratne Dilshan os out for 81 after he tried to drive a ball outside off-stump and edged the ball to wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi off the bowling of Tim Southee. Southee was looking extremely dangerous and his wicket of Dilshan is well-deserved. Dilshan put on 104 runs with Kumar Sangakkara for the second wicket following his 71-run stand with Lahiru Thirimanne for the first wicket.

Mahela Jayawardene has joined Sangakkara on the field and the visitors will look to consolidate on the start that they have been provided by their openers. Sangakkara on his way to another fifty, became the run-getter for Sri Lanka in ODIs barring the runs he scored for ICC XI and Asia XI.

New Zealand lead the seven-match series 4-1 and Sri Lanka are looking to save some pride by winning this final match of the series in the build-up to the ICC World Cup 2015.
