Brendon McCullum has already set the ICC Cricket World Cup on fire as he reached his third fifty in World Cup games. His half century came in just 35 balls. It was a cold and windy morning at Christchurch and Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews won and important toss and as expected he invited New Zealand to bat first. Lasith Malinga, who was injured prior to the World Cup and missed quite few matches, was included in the playing eleven of Sri Lanka for this opening encounter.
