New Zealand’s first match of the two-match series against England at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground is their 400th match in history. In their 400-Test history, rarely have New Zealand been regarded as a dominant Test side, but the tiny rugby-crazy nation have finally earned the tag.

In their 399 completed matches to date, they have won just 80 games while have lost twice as many. While the remaining 159 have ended in draws. They’re record to date hasn’t been the best in Test cricket, but with Brendon McCullum at the helm they have tasted tremendous success in the format.

The match also marks the 100th Test between England and New Zealand. England have undoubtedly been the more dominant of the two sides in the longest format, having won 47 of those matches while New Zealand have triumphed in just eight of those hundred encounters, the remaing resulting in draws.
