Born on November 8, 1981, Niall O’Brien, the Ireland cricketer turned 33 on Saturday. Brother of Kevin O’Brien, Nail is a a left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper. He began his county career with Kent and later he joined Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. He is known for his aggressive style of batting.
O’Brien made his One-Day International (ODI) debut in 2006 against Scotland. But he came into the limelight when Ireland made a dream debut in 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean. O’Brien had a major role to play when the Irish beat Pakistan in the group stages. Later in the Super Eight stage, the elegant left-hander played some important knocks for his country.
