Australia Women looked on course for 300, but ultimately racked up 287 against the Indian Eves in second ODI at Vadodara. Nicole Bolton s carried her excellent form to the match. However, she missed out on her second consecutive century. Shikha Pandey claimed 3 wickets and Poonam Yadav scalped 2, but they were far from enough to restrict Australia to a reasonable score on a pitch where the odd ball stopped. Ellyse Perry s unbeaten 70, followed by cameos by Beth Mooney and Nicole Carey, changed the course of the game for Australia in the final overs.

Opting to bowl, the Indians bowled to a better length compared the first game. However, Bolton made that redundant with her splendid form. She was denied another century as Bisht strangled her in front for 84. On the other hand, Alyssa Healy, who had started the carnage in the first ODI, was not at her best today and was dismissed for 19.

India saw a ray of hope when Meg Lanning fel for 24, followed by Rachel Haynes for a duck. At that stage Australia were 144 for 4. But Beth Mooney and Perry who went all guns blazing, notching up fifties in the process. Mooney scored her 6th fifty and was later dismissed for 56 by Shikha. Perry, on the other hand, brought up her 25th ODI fifty.

Poonam Yadav tried to halt the run-fest of Australia scalping Mooney, but Perry s 70* saw Australia post a huge target. With Mithali Raj back into thick of action, can the Indian Eves level the series against Australia?

Brief scores:

Australia Women 287 for 9 in 50 overs (Nicole Bolton 88, Ellyse Perry 70*; Shikha Pandey 3 for 61) vs India Women
