Cricket fans around the world were rocked on early Sunday morning when the news of an Indian cricketer being arrested for rape surfaced all over the internet and Social Media. A source confirmed to CricketCountry that there is no truth in these reports whatsoever. The Indian team are currently residing at Meikles Hotel in Harare, where the arrest is said to have happened. According to the source, “there was an arrest that took place, perhaps of someone of Asian origin. But it definitely was not an Indian cricketer”. India after losing their first by a mere two runs against Zimbabwe on Saturday will look to bounce back in the second match, scheduled to be played on Monday at Harare.

India cricketers have been in trouble in the past. The latest one being of Amit Mishra. The Indian cricketer was found guilty of assaulting a woman in a hotel in Bangalore, during the time South Africa had toured India late in 2015. Mishra was interrogated for several hours and was also arrested by the Bangalore Police, but was later released on bail.

Coming back to the current tour, it was India, who have been dominant, having won the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series 3-0. India still have a chance to win the T20I series, with two more games to go. MS Dhoni-led India handed out debuts to five players in the shortest format. With four required off the final ball, Dhoni managed to get a single, ending India’s hopes of remaining unbeaten throughout the tour.
